Maggie is glad she has come. This charity is important to her, and the dinner has been pleasant, the speeches inspiring. She is chatting casually with her table when a woman, tall, hair slicked back, wearing a smart black suit approaches her, smiling. “Ready for dessert?” the woman asks, holding out a hand. “Where are we going?” asks Maggie, looking up at the woman. “Post dinner entertainment. Don’t worry, you’ll be back before you know it.”
Maggie finds herself at a "Bar for One," in a room she hasn’t noticed before, just off the main dining area. She is alone save for the bartender, who stands squarely in front of her. He is handsome, charming, and she warms to him immediately. He lays three printed cards before her. She points to her left, at the card with the black and white drawing of an anatomical heart (it reminds her of her father). The bartender winks at her. “Excellent choice,” he says, as he begins to select from the vials and herbs between them.
